As a young stowaway aboard the Scottish merchant ship Edith’s Folly, I learned the skills of sailing and swordfighting. Over time, I grew into a sea-worthy scalawag in my own right, and eventually won the governorship of a small military colony on the eastern coast of Iceland. When I met Dr. Who at the age of 24, I left my post for several years to adventure among time and space, and returned four minutes later and several years wiser.
