I have a suggestion:add“multiselect/delete selected items”button.Display “multiselect” when no items selected,click button to multiselect items,click item to mark.Display "delete selected items" when has marked items,click button to confirmation button,click again to delete marked items.This way can completely solve the problem of deleting newest items incorrectly.
