I got over 20000 pts my first time playing challenge mode (but I'd had practice on normal, first). I think you rack up points more easily when you fling several at once (like, hitting 4 spots in one throw). As for the overlapping platforms, it's rough and it's screwed me a few times but I assume it's part of the challenge!

Would be even better if text had proper inclusion of the word "than".
