I bought the Giant/Ogre card from the Green cape dude but the Giant doesn't appear in combat. Is it bugged or am I not doing something.

Can we get some hints for a few recipes? Or maybe even 2-3 recipes so we can at least get an idea of what types of items to try in combos. I would probably spend more money if I could make some progress on recipes. Thanks.
