ShellShock Live 2

(again, continued from below) Beyond that, the entire game just feels like a massive cash-grab. Why are there items that are one-time use and can literally only be purchased with real money? If you're going to hide important gameplay content behind a paywall, just charge us for the game and let us play the entire thing, rather than trying to act like the game is free.

(continued from below) In the original ShellShock being a high level didn't mean as much. Sure, you got access to new weapons, but the majority of them were't just better versions of existing weapons and actually had real drawbacks in addition to benefits. True, many of the unlockable weapons here are the same as SS1, but then again there are a whole slew of "new" weapons whose only purpose seems to be to make new players feel bad by absolutely crushing them.

This game has a serious flaw that honestly ruins it for me: most of the new weapons don't really add anything new to the game, and instead they're just overpowered versions of existing weapons. This in and of itself isn't the worst thing in the world (SSL1 had this to a degree, with the shot/big shot/huge shot), but this game takes it to a whole new level by, ironically, tying weapons to the leveling system. Why is it that my 3-ball does 60 damage max, but some high level player has a weapon that functions exactly the same and deals 110 damage? How is that fair?

Everything is way overpriced. Not to mention, this game isn't fun. At all.

This game is not fun. It's frustratingly, maddeningly difficult.

I played the crap out of the original Death Worm back on yoyogames a few years ago. This one is kind of one-step forward one-step backward. The biggest thing for me is that this had absolutely none of the difficulty that the original did. There was really no point in this game at which I felt threatened. In the original death worm you really had to play smart to survive. In this one you could just do whatever and you'd be fine. That said, upgrades are a welcome improvement.

I like how you can solve the puzzles in different ways. One or two of the levels I could tell I just kind of BS'd it and ignored most of the pipes that were there but it ended up working anyways. The one major flaw with this game is that it's kind of hard to tell which pieces you get to move and which you don't, because the green glow is kind of hard to see. I'd suggest making the pieces you can move a different color entirely, like fixed pieces are red and movable pieces are green or something like that. At any rate, great game.

I'm convinced that the quake spell doesn't work right. The towers only stop firing for like 1.5 seconds, not 5 seconds.

Ugh, this game gets stale fast. There just isn't enough depth to it. Where's all the equipment and assassin gadgets like poison darts and smoke bombs and such? And where are the upgrades? Simplicity is nice, but it isn't going to keep me playing for more than 15 minutes.

Anyone else notice that it's the same folks that made Gemcraft?

Without the ability to grind to higher levels this game is just way, way too difficult. I wouldn't mind failing if i actually got a skill point or something from it, but losing earns you absolutely nothing but frustration.

Is this a good game? Yes. Is it better than games like Gemcraft: Labyrinth? No. Does this game's rating give an honest indication of how good it is relative to other games? HELL NO. While this game is very good, the shop is extremely difficult to use, there is absolutely no way to get help or explanations of how things work if you missed them the first time around, and while this game may look pretty, gameplay leaves more than a bit to be desired. Read: there's very little to it. At best this game should be rated a 4.00 or so.

@Bobby999Boy - Did you use a utility like CCleaner to clear our browser cache and such? Because sometimes those delete saved flash data, which does not discriminate between crap that advertisers put on your computer and your saved games.

Man, if this game had some kind of upgrade system it would be a real winner. It sucks that you can't choose your special abilities and such.

This game is pretty much terrible in every way. It is absolutely riddled with glitches, the music is actually painful to listen to, and the gameplay is boring and frustrating. Oh, and to that comment by fivera9, "what's the point of a mute button on a music synched game?" I'll tell you what the point is, the point is when the music is so low-quality and so horrible to listen to that you have to mute your computer or drown it out with better music.
