@sonicdude yes there is a way to counter this, be a chaos desert mage :P

For people having trouble with epic stages, just max shield and timestop. Then, send out the three fastest heroes, Cassandra, Viegraf, and Kara, and send them on assault as soon as they spawn and let them kill everyone and let goblins, wraths etc come back them up. As soon as a special enemy, green/red/ big spawns, put out shield and then just renew it when the sheild timer counts to 2. Make sure that you have max mana though, at 400 to do this. For the challenges use this strategy in conjuction with timestop.

xD Its so easy. Try to keep about 2 snipers alive to kill the other enemies.
