I fail to understand why this game doesn't get badges and other games do. It certainly seems better (or at least comparable) to me. Whatever; it's essentially random.

All of that said, however, this isn't a bad game (I gave it a 4/5), but I think SOTC should never be copied so (from an artistic standpoint), or if it is, have the necessary elements of atmosphere (make a new kind of theme and atmosphere; and make every element support it, as was the case with SOTC). Oh, but it has good music by the way. And before anyone says it, no I couldn't do better myself (I don't make platformers [already been done too many times; and far better than I could ever do]), but I don't think anyone should try to make a tribute to SOTC in this manner (again, from an artistic standpoint). This isn't a fully backed up thought I realize, but somebody had to bring it up. Please critique it, so there can be some healthy (I hate to use such a cliche phrase) debate over this.

I will probably be hated slightly for what I am about to say, but don't hold your retaliatory comments back. Though please, keep it intelligent. While I see (and respect [I love ICO and SOTC myself]) your appreciation for the source material, I think you have missed part of what made SOTC meaningful. In SOTC, you were given a feeling of isolation, where you had traverse an uninhabited (at least by people) land to get to your goals. Your game is missing that element, because it just plays as a platformer (the golems [I think you called them?] don't really fight you) with SOTC references. There is no appropriate set up (lead in) in the gameplay, like there was in SOTC, into the battle between a massive "colossus" and you. Also, SOTC was entirely ground-breaking; nothing was really ever like it before (except ICO in some ways). Your game, to be a true tribute to SOTC, needs more originality. Copying SOTC so directly, it seems to me, indicates a lack of respect for what it meant.

Like others said, it's like LittleBigPlanet, which isn't a bad thing. If you can't afford a PS3 (or PSP) and LBP, this is as close as you probably are going to get. I also notice some similarities to Fancy Pants Adventure (graphical more than anything). Most of the fun with LBP (in my opinion) was the multiplayer though; see if you can get that worked out, and the game will be improved drastically I think. As it stands, 4/5. Good game.

Better instructions? It becomes pretty obvious how to play once you press any of the arrow keys.

What do you mean by vibration movement setting? Just moving slowly, jumping back and forth a little bit? Are others in favor of the addition of multiple game-modes? Sorry, shortna, I just want to make sure I won't slight others by removing some of the simplicity (just one option). Have added M (on keyboard) also as the mute (toggle music) button.

I have added some brief instructions that will disappear once you click on any rune; though this change is probably too late at this point. Can people give me ideas on how to change it from being a complete guessing game?

I didn't finish the game yet, because to complete a game takes a lot more time, and I wouldn't want to use a possibly broken central gameplay throughout the whole thing... just to have someone tell me to change it then.

Katamari Damacy inspiration I assume?

Reminds me a little of Tower of the Sorcerer (100 levels and all). Was that game an inspiration for you? Either way, nice first game. Good luck!

Great game. Played through 4 times to see if there was different endings according to how you played... Could only find 2 (sort of 3; if choice between go or close included). Are there more than 2 (or 3)?

Awesome Game! Glad to see it made it to Kongregate. Thanks, Nitrome. Though why are only certain games being posted on here?

A few specific problems. 1. Fix the sound. 2. Since it's called Bounce maybe make the character bounce. 3. One level seems impossible; maybe I'm wrong. 4. Polish up the graphics a bit or go for an abstract style. Platforming always have potential; do something unique with that potential.

People are too big compared to the cars... Keep one style of graphic, don't have a different perspective on the cars than the perspective on the people and buildings.

Odd combination of gameplays... Obviously nicely polished however. Not my cup of tea, though I can see the appeal.

Too repetitive, and it has been done before. Try something more original.
