My lifeline beats slow and smooth, only picking up pace when i met you. You gave me life, you gave me meaning. You turned into my whole world, my lifeline beating. Then one came along and pulled. But we held on, and my lifeline stayed, but only to be ripped away. Only two, not three or four, grabbed my life and pulled too far. They tried ripping you away, but still you stayed, holding on tight. I couldn’t move in all this fright, that soon I might loose my lifeline. But here you stand in front of me, wrapping me in your arms and telling me everything will work out. Even in my fear of saying good-bye I believe you. But I must save your life by taking mine, so I’ll whisper good-bye just one more time and driftaway from my lifeline.
