When trying to save the child, don't hold it in the air, as the helicopter wont go near you. Instead, hold the shark above the water so it cannot go near it. When the 2nd appears, keep them both at the other side of the screen

This is such a great game, and I especially love how its possible to hit yourself with your own arrows, much more realistic.

Yard planner is good, but it would be nice if you could move all buildings to the side (of your map) so you have room to sort things out, then put them back in according to your new plan.
