Got 3 mil achievement with only 20 nukes. Probably could have it in less but I was getting close and didnt want to risk it. Farthest no-nuke run was 2,704,137.6. Got some 4 lucky golden gun bullets near the end of it

Tried that little guide floating around...I can't seem to see how they expect you to get some of those
