Born to a wealthy family, she was raised by nannies and wet nurses, when she realized that the lady she had called “mommie” her entire life was in fact not related to her, but instead paid to take on the role of her mother, she was upset. She didn’t trust anyone. At age five, she stopped speaking and has not said a word since. Her mother and father have had her tested to see if anything was wrong with her, but the doctor knew and told her parents that she just wouldn’t talk. She has never had any friends, since nobody understands sign language. Her parents sent her away to boarding school as soon as they could, not wanting to deal with her themselves. At her school, she signs to the teachers as her way of communication with them, as she has to, but she still refuses to speak. No other students seem to understand her, so she draws to express herself. She has a satchel that she always carries with her to keep her drawings in.
Vanessa Scheiner
Born to a mother who was a former prostitute, now living in a rehabilitation center, she became a ward of the state at birth, her mother signing off all rights to her. She was given her mother’s last name and has been in foster care her entire life, moving around constantly. What nobody knew about her mother was that her addiction stemmed from Bi-Polar Disorder, which was the one thing she passed on to Vanessa. When manic, she acts like everyone else her age, completely normal, and incredibly happy. When she becomes depressed, she is constantly mopey and takes prescription painkillers she has stolen from foster parents over the years, and she takes enough that she doesn’t remember anything that happens in those phases. She hides her condition because she believes she’ll be put into the same place her mother was.
Amalia Revrence
Amalia lives with her parents, but she is completely her own person. She’s extremely upbeat, and very playful, being a goofball in general. She treats her friends like family and makes many of them quite easily and keeps in contact with the ones she cares the most about. She’s fairly normal, her most stunning trait being her dress. She’s gothic to an extent, wearing all black and fishnets, and, on occasion, beaded necklaces with crosses and such. She is a much nicer person than her appearance would lead you to believe.
Kay Melrose
Kay appeared on earth at what was assumed to be age 12. A girl and her mother picked her up, adopted her, and they’ve been a family ever since. But Kay is from another planet, and uncontrollably pops back and forth. Her planet has turned into a barren wasteland, and she wants to know what happened to it, and why she survived. She has no real memory of what happened before she appeared on Earth, but flashes of her memories will occasionally come back.
