You could also, if you wanted to, develop it even further to include the decision to choose a particular military branch at the start, and have various upgrades or bonuses that vary between branches as well as the particular upgrade paths you take.

Looks good so far! Just branching skill trees for both DPC and DPS would be nice. Such as Enlisted and Officer for DPC and Infantry and Artillery for DPS. Certain perks with selecting a skill path would also help to enrich the experience.
