Does anyone know why some games wont save progress anymore? Does Kong have a problem with FireFox or something?

Maybe give some hint on how to get the good ending other than people saying "it's not time based!" I've killed all the bosses, taken my island to every corner of the map and don't see a point in continuing. Having a good ending means there is intentionally a bad ending, which detracts significantly from the game since I now feel like I wasted 20 minutes.
