I just promoted my level 40 Rare Warden, and now he's gone. The "feeder" that I used is still in my heroes, at level 40 and non-promoted. I have a couple other units very close to promotion, but if they're just going to be devoured and lost, hardly see the point. :(

Ripoff? That's amusing. Extreme hatred? I wish my life was so idyllic that I could get that angry about a game developer!
