So what does Dark Burst do?

tier 1 ice and poison are best core spells to have. Ice is your knockback ability, and poison is a bit better than fire because of instant cast vs projectile travel time. By endless mode you'll be level 40+, and can spec into pretty much anything you want. dunno if this is a cheap micro trick, but since you can swap spells around anytime, you can fire off all your spells when a big wave comes, and then slowly recharge them all for the next wave.

followup to my previous comment: 1. Build I used to beat the game: bonus points until 29% interest, then antimatter shield + whatever else you want (pretty much just choose whatever buffs offense). 2. Obviously the less $$ you spend on upgrades the more you'll have collecting interest, but it doesn't really matter past ~250-300hp / 150 shields as you shouldn't have problems winning with that much hp. The offensive upgrades cap around ~$100k anyway. 3. Beating the game without the antimatter shield is nearing impossible badge territory, but with it you shouldn't die more than a few times throughout the entire game.

spent the last two hours trying for the hard badge. restarted after figuring out that i should've kept money for investing. It took me 20 minutes to go from level 1-40 on the second run, then the last hour to go from 41-49. I've attempted level 50 for 45 minutes now. It was a cool and fun game, but the ramping up on the difficulty is so absurd that I'm giving the game 2 stars.

Frozen Islands

some things I found that helped: - upgrading an island resets the tax-unhappiness - you can tax islands 20 times every round (I think I got in trouble only once, but all it does is reduce the island level by 1, you don't have to go reconquer it) - if you go fight a new island, win one battle, then click pause and go back to map - you can immediately tax again. easy way to farm some gold.

Got my first impossible badge in a few years here. It's a pretty great game, not much to complain about. If there was one, it'd be the unity engine. I solved it by zooming out. Dark Chroma Zones / Spin Zone ... I was playing on ~33% zoom. I like the mix of challenges: once you get past learning "the swivel" to direct the blue ball forward, you learn to jab the blue ball, you learn how to avoid getting boxed in, you cry about parallel lines, you cry about dark world. You try enough, you get lucky once, you never have to do that level again. My scores: 112 / 95 / 162 / 88 / 108 /// 124 / 64 / 121 / 67 / 51 /// 116 / 81 / 93 / 104 / 68 /// 98 / 82 / 96 / 70 / 41 /// 88 / 35 / 68 / 46 / 64 /// 71 / 33 / 80 / 60 / 37 /// 101 / 88 / 26 / 75 / 44 /// 80 / 46 / 31 / 68 / 22 ///

Really weird - it may be a bug, but when I told my medic to heal one of my survivors, then himself, inside a subway station, he killed the survivor then himself. Then that horde rush came..

5/5. Would've gotten both hard badges, but finished my iron challenges, came back today, and my cookies had been cleared..

Global Stats: "Rage Quits - 400,038" how do you measure that? o.O

Well, that badge only took 6 hours to get. Level 11, I read off someone; make use of the invincibility powerup. Level 14... half luck, half skill. Just keep trying, if you're losing by too much, restart. Level 15, mostly luck, but still requires skill. Use the powerups as much as possible, and you should win (eventually).

Hmm. Alien Campaign, Mission 11. J. Rockit spawns 3 meters from his flag with MY flag on his back. Maybe that's why I lost with a 5 point lead..

WOO! That wasn't overly hard, but wasn't easy either. Just required a bit of thought/luck to find the working method, then just keep trying until it works out. My four rows were 443, 456, 477, and 500%.

Beaten levels 2,3, and 5 in 13/22/25 turns, without guides. (=< For levels 3 and 5, the best places to start are Africa/Antarctica/North America. If you meet any AI's within the first 3 to 5 turns, you should probably restart. Best way of winning is holding Africa, then Antarctica, South America, and then North America; attacking/starting in Europe/Australia/Asia in the early stages generally is too hard to win.

To win Crazy (level 5) is probably 30% luck, but the rest is proper strategy. 1) if you don't capture a bonus by turn 4, restart. 2) if you meet an AI within a 5 turns, restart. 3) Try to balance not killing a specific team, and capturing another bonus; if you can capture and hold a bonus, do it, but don't focus on killing one team (unless they're clearly winning, in which case you've probably lost) 4)If you can't win within 40 turns, you've probably lost. -- there are other small strategies, but they're quite situational dependent. The main rule is to advance where you can, and do your best not to lose your bonuses.

Haha. so an easier, but much longer way of getting the hard badge? Beat the game first on any difficulty, and train up 5 survivors to max skills on EVERYTHING, and then send them out to capture another city. =P

Heh. Saw Last Stand: Union City badges, came on, got the two harder badges, checked my inventory, and happened to have a book... 50 free points!

If you want to find out how to beat level one in 6 turns or less, read this. Most people are probably getting annoyed with those who can't figure it out. Turn 1) take the Middle East with all 5 attacking men. Turn 2) reinforce your men in the Middle East with 2 men; try to take Ukraine with the other three reinforcements, and move into India with your army of 5ish men. Turn 3) If you haven't taken Ukraine yet, add another two men to that army, and you should get it on this turn. The other three reinforcements go to India; take Siam. Turn 4 onwards. Relentlessly take Australia. If you do this right, and this should work 90% of the time, 6 turns is easy. Turn 3)

This would've been awesome.. but the Church of the Chosen ones ruined it all. ALL 40 of my guys committed suicide, then my last guy died, rather randomly, and i lost.
