B-Lander is a simple retro throwback to an arcade genre of the late 70’s. Using gravity and your thrusters, avoid the planet’s guardians to land your ship safely

This game was build using the Monkey-X game development language in conjunction with the Mike Hartlef’s fantomEngine game framework.
The explosion sprite algorithm and images are based on those used in Mike’s book Monkey Game Development Beginners Guide
All other images were created using GIMP
All sounds were created using either SBFGames’ ChipTone synth or Tom Vian’s port of DrPetter’s sfxr
The bitmap fonts were created with FontMachine and are based on the Zekton font. by Typodermic Fonts
The Point-In-Polygon algorithm used to detect ship collisions with the landscape is based on an old article by Darel Rex Finley
Integrating the Kongregate high scores API into the Monkey-X code was a real head-scratcher but the process was greatly helped by Foppy’s tutorial and some related Monkey-X community discussion threads.
