Every single creep spawner is completely held at bay. Spores are shot down before they even get close. Why are we leaving again?

Anyone else get that compulsion to cap every single creeper spawn before you activate the totems? Every time?

I kind of wish I could watch the world for a while after the city's left, so I can see the creeper inevitably spread across the landscape after the weapons run out of power.
