card game

no this isn’t a ccg, but mostly for practice i’m planning on making a game with a collection of different card games: war, solitaire, spades, BS, etc…

basically i wanna know what people’s fav card games are that they’d like put in here. I really only need the name, not all how to play it and stuff, cause i can probly find that on my own. if not i can contact you about it.

also if anyone would like to make custom card/deck graphics for it that’d be awesome too ;)

by ccg i meant like kongai/yugioh/pokemon where you collect cards to do stuff… this is a collection of classic card games

I actually wouldn’t include War as it’s purely random. It requires no human interaction; playing it on the computer might as well be automated.

How about Old Maid? Poker? Those work better with people whose faces you can read, and betting make them more interesting, but cards just ain’t cards without those games.

i was planning on including poker i just didn’t include them in my brief examples. certain poker game recommendations would be helpful. i’m planning on blackjack, texas hold’em, and basic 5 card poker where the player can change his bet on blinds, wilds, etc. thanks for suggesting old maid that’s one i hadn’t thought of ;)

uhm. not trying for an original game. considering i’m taking games that already exist i thought that was obvious… or maybe that i said i’m doing this for experience… oh well, maybe not

I think you should include Hearts and spades if your talking classic cards games.

Dice Wars if you were to make this multiplayer…

Speed is aa fun card game.

My favorite card games using a deck of classic playing cards are pyramid, solitaire, golf and freecell. Try playing some patiences off the net, see which ones you know how to play or like a lot. Go through the rules and play a few times, then it’d be a piece of cake to make a game with games you know. Be sure to write good instructions for the games too, as nobody knows all card games. :p I wish you good luck!

I love that game.

this sounds like a game that just owuldnt be fun without a multiplayer. War is a bad idea, since its COMPLETELY luck. Try games that are less common, it would make the game more interesting (I think fantan would be a good one, I can explain if you’ve never heard of it) as players would get to learn new games and strategies that would be unavailable to them otherwise.

I actually haven’t been working on this at all since I’ve been busy with another game, but just to answer khanh, I am planning on having this multiplayer. I’m still planning on working on this so I’m glad people have posted suggestions. And I am planning on putting less common card games in here, that’s why I asked for suggestions. I’ve never heard of fantan so if you would like, you could email me the details of the game or I could look it up on my own when I finish my current project and get back to this
