I am building a flash game discovery and recommendation engine, and I am looking for a few people to help me assemble a sample data set, and to help tune our algorithms through their feedback. I am looking for fairly active gamers, who would be willing to install a small Firefox extension. If you are interested give me a shout or a whisper, and I will get back to you. This idea is in the early stages but is designed to expose you to flash games that you normally wouldn’t play.

Shouldn’t this go in the Collaborations forum? |
No because it’s not a collaboration, I’m looking for some volunteers, and this is the only forum on which I will be able to get some testers. |
so are you looking for people test out the game and to look at things that need work like bugs and stuff? |
Basically the engine takes in input in the form of likes or dislikes from the user, and then we use that data to recommend other games to you that you might like. Basically, you just install a firefox extension, and then when you go to a game on kong, you can say either you like it or you don’t like it. Then our engine takes that into consideration, and recommends other games to you. |
I’ll help out with this. Sounds very insteresting. |
If it works out it not only prove useful for gamers, but it will help get a greater variety of games from a variety of developers get played much more often. |
Still looking for more volunteers! |
Do you have any screenshots you could share? Also, that everyone that volunteers getting in? |
What do you want screenshots of? And unless 5000 people volunteer, yes everyone that volunteers get’s in. |
I volunteer. |
il join then |
Sure I will. =D |
Still looking for about 10 more testers! |

Pandora for Flash games? Sounds interesting. |
I guess you could describe it as that. We have a basic idea of how the technology will work, and now we just need people to help us test it out, and give us some data to work with. |
Holy! ExtremePopcorn, you took the words right out of my mouth. It’s kind of ironic since, just today, I was thinking about making something like this. I would love to help. |
I’ll do it, but I dont have firefox, you’ll hae to give me a download. It’d be tough to keep it up, unless you script it to ask people if theylike any new hot or high rated games. |
Generally, what Pandora does is to have people who use the program rate a… Yes: Absolutely loved it. No: It was okay… or I didn’t like it. It would then send the data back to the server, and compare it either to other people, or to other games. The only problem is that you would have to give every game a list of attributes and qualities to match them up with people. You would need a heck of a lot of volunteers to do this. |
ill do it, sure. |

The tags on Kongregate. |
Our system will use tagging, as well as categories, but also personal preferences. As we develop the system we will have a blog explaining how we are deciding on preferences. Beta testers will just install a small lightweight extension, and you won’t be required to “tag” or define attributes of the games. |
Ah, I forgot about the tags. Though, they can sometimes be unreliable. You’d have to have a way to ignore spammed tags. |
Still looking for more beta testers. Also I never said we were using Kongregate tags, in fact we have no such plans. |
