Nonoba looks to make peace

As a dual citizen of both Nonoba, and Kongregate, I would like to offer the olive branch here. We are both gaming sites, despite any diffrences we may have, and would like to form a “working” relationship with Kongregate, and its willing users. Please use this forum to make your suggestions, comments, vent, etc, but leave being nasty out of it! Thanks Kong users!! I look forward to meeting you guys!

I have always loved Nonoba, I don’t understand why people freaked out so much about them. It’s a nice site, really.

There has been a lot on spam on nonoba lately. Recently I saw a thread bragging about spaming Nonoba and showing screen shots and ect. I don’t get what is the freud between nonoba and kongregate? To my knowledge nonoba has left kongregate be. You don’t want spam here as much as we don’t want it there. Can’t we all just get along? =(

I wasn’t aware that we were anything but peaceful with each other. I’ve talked to the staff at Nonoba quite a few times! We seem to get along fine :)

We ban any users who try to start that sort of behavior. It’s not allowed here.

That’s what this thread is for “peace” between the 2 sites. People from Kong believe that nonoba stole the whole concept, etc.

Now i happen to have an account on Nonoba, i actually forgot all about it. Now i might start up again to get some achievements seeing as i can’t get the ones my missing, =[.

this was the site i think you are talking about, which is what actually brought this forum about. We are keeping the angry nonobians at bay, as far as spamming goes. I don’t see how nonoba stole anything. There is a lot of features kong does not have that we have there is a lot of features that other sites have that kong has.

To be fair, that happens here too occasionally, and there’s not any proof that it was a person from Kongregate that did it this time. And it’s a bit silly to call this a ‘feud’ when it’s really just a few idiots who want any excuse to spam somewhere and somehow feel that it’s justified.

the only problem i have with nonoba is how blatant their ads are when someone uploads a gome from nonoba to kong. it’s quite annoying.

I think Kong has a bunch of phag00tz… Which I’ve experienced… All in ten minutes, while playing Monsters’ Den, which is extremely immature, BUT I met like SIX awesmoe peoples. So.. YAR. Thar she blows. That is all.

I am used to the giant “THIS USER IS BANNED” When you go on someone profile on nonoba. (Who is banned) =P

I dont want this to turn into an argument, please. Lets just have everyone respect everyone else’s opinions and efforts, etc.

Now as of now not eveyone on kong hates nonoba and not eveyone on nonoba hates kong but if spam keeps happening and such then soon eveyone will be spaming and we all become bitter enemys.

There really isn’t any hate between these two sites, just some idiots who like to spam; that’s it. The PirateHatCat spammer isn’t just targeting Nonoba—he spammed here too, as well as many other places. Also, posting here about spam on Nonoba isn’t going to solve the problem in this situation. In fact, you probably just gave a troll or two a good idea.

Basically the whole community gaming structure (upload your own game, get money from contests and ad-impressions from the game you upload, you get to chat while you are playing, get achievements, earn points, gain levels) was on Kongregate first—you can’t deny that. Nonoba has come up with a few original ideas too though, and I’m fine with them and the community there. But you can’t say that they didn’t borrow any ideas from Kongregate.

I don’t see see what is done as stealing it’s like the person who first made the first cereal corn flakes, others saw this idea and then made frosted flakes and then dry cereal was made! Kong may be the first to make a gameing site with a chat in game. Or at least one of the most known. All the features you mention are already on other sites. I don’t see anything really being stolen unless nonoba was to make www.kongregate2.com or go and steal all of kongregates servers or something. So ideas such as a commuity gaming structure existed on other sites like newgrounds. Levels and points is on newgrounds and uploading games. So if nonoba is a copy of kong then kong is a copy of newgrounds with a few other features. So I guess kong borrowed a lot from newgrounds? And nonoba is differenet from kong they focus on devlopers a bit more then kong. Just as Kong focus on comudity more then newgrounds.

I didn’t mean to get into an argument over this; I was just merely stating that Nonoba really does look almost identical to Kongregate, because it has all the same features. Nonoba may or may not have gotten the idea of all these things together from Kongregate—who knows.

Generally, anyone who harasses Nonoba is not a very welcomed member here either. I wasn’t aware there wasn’t peace, besides the usual idiots who decide to cause havoc. They hardly represent the community though.
